Bring the camping and S’mores inside! This easy Cast Iron Skillet S’mores recipe will be at the top of the kiddos list! I love this recipe because it takes some of the mess out of making traditional s’mores. With the fun of a cookie layer, candy toppings and chocolate drizzle, this will become an easy go to dessert recipe.
S’MORES WAYS TO GET CREATIVE WITH THE KIDS!
I like this dessert because it lends you lots of options to get creative with the kids. Not only is it a less messy option, they can design their s’more cookie however they like. They will love to add different candies, different flavors of cookies and more. It is a great way to let them explore more options in creating a s’more.
A TRADITIONAL S’MORE WITH A TWIST
- PREPARED CHOCOLATIE CHIP COOKIE DOUGH; Use any type that you like. My favorite prepared is Nestle.
- MINI MARSHMALLOWS; Plain marshmallows for this recipe.
- TWIX; Chop up you Twix Bar.
- HERSHEY’S BAR; Chop up your Hersey’s bar.
- GRAHAM CRACKERS; Store brand work just fine. Break them into pieces
- MELTING CHOCOLATE FOR DRIZZLE; Any brand is fine.
HOW TO MAKE A S’MORES SKILLET COOKIE
- Heat oven to 350° f.
- Press some cookie dough into the bottom of the cast iron skillet so that it covers the bottom completely.
- Bake your cookie for 8 minutes.
- Remove cookie from oven and add marshmallows, Hershey’s and Twix on top. Bake for another 3-4 minutes.
- Use a cooking torch or broil setting to brown the top of the marshmallows. If you use your broil setting make sure you watch that they do not burn. Broil for only 2-3 minutes.
- Follow the instructions for melting chocolate melts. Drizzle chocolate all over the top of the marshmallows using a piping bag or a spoon.
- Break apart your graham crackers and place all over the top.
- This dish is served family style. Enjoy!

It is best to use Milk Chocolate for traditional S’mores. It’s cocoa butter content makes it easier for it to melt.
One substitute for traditional marshmallows is using marshmallow fluff. You can also use, marshmallow cream, sugar-free marshmallows or gelatin-free marshmallows.
