Easy, as 123!

  • Mix Dry Ingredients
  • Add Wet ingredients
  • Bake
  • Enjoy, a low stress recipe that your family will love!

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c. All Pourpos flour
  • 2 c. Buttermilk
  • 4 tsp. Baking powder
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 ½ tbsp. Granulated sugar
  • ½ c. Butter melted unsalted

Buttermilk Substitution!

If you dont have Buttermilk on had or you cannot find it in the store, there is an easy substitute! Create Sour Milk.

  • 1 c. Milk
  • 1 tbsp. Distilled white vinegar
  • 1:1 Ratio
  • After adding the vinegar to the milk, whisk it together and let it sit for about 5 minutes. The milk will bubble/curdle a little. That is ok. Now you have a similar flavor to buttermilk.

How to make Buttermilk Swim Biscuits

  • Start by preheating your oven to 450° f.
  • While your oven is heating up, add all the dry ingredients into a bowl. If you want to sift the flour that is an option.
  • Use a whisk to mix the dry ingredients together.
  • Next, add in your buttermilk and mix until everything is combined.
  • Do not over mix.
  • Add your stick of butter to your 9×11 dish and melt it in the oven.
  • Pull it out just before the butter starts to bubble.
  • Next add in your biscuit mix to the dish.
  • Use a rubber spatula to make sure that the dough is spread all the way to the edges of the pan.
  • Place the dish into the oven and bake for 10 minutes.
  • At the 10 minute mark use a knife to cut into your dough depending on what size of biscuits you want.
  • Finish baking your biscuits for another 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown on the top. Times will vary, so jus keep an eye on your biscuits!
  • Let them cool for about 5 minutes before serving!
  • Enjoy!
