- Frozen or cold butter. I like to shred my frozen butter because it spreads easier through out the biscuit dough.
- Sifting your flour will help make light and fluffy biscuits
- Buttermilk; you can make your own by adding vinegar to your milk.

Ingredients

- 2 C. Flour
- 1 tbsp. Baking powder
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 1 tbsp. Sugar
- 6 tbsp. Butter frozen and shredded
- ¾ C Buttermilk plus extra for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°
- Use a cheese grater to shred your frozen butter.
- Mix together flour, baking powder and salt
- Add butter and mix until it’s a coarse consistency
- Gradually add butter milk, mixing until dough leaves side of bowl
- Roll dough out on parchment paper to about 1/2 inch thick. The more you fold and roll them the more layers you will create.
- Use a cutter to make biscuit rounds
- Place on a sheet pan and top each biscuit with milk
- Bake for 10 – 12 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
You can make your biscuits as thick or as thin as you like.
