You are going to love this fluffy buttermilk biscuit recipe. It is perfect for Biscuits and gravy, jam or butter! I love to eat them with just about anything! The come together in no time.

These biscuits are come out thick and fluffly. Perfect vessel to add delicious butter, gravy or jams!

Biscuit ingredients that matter

  • Frozen or cold butter. I like to shred my frozen butter because it spreads easier through out the biscuit dough.
  • Sifting your flour will help make light and fluffy biscuits
  • Buttermilk; you can make your own by adding vinegar to your milk.

  • Oven
  • Parchment paper

Ingredients
  

  • Ingredients
  • 2 C. Flour
  • 1 tbsp. Baking powder
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tbsp. Sugar
  • 6 tbsp. Butter frozen and shredded
  • ¾ C Buttermilk plus extra for topping

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°
  • Use a cheese grater to shred your frozen butter.
  • Mix together flour, baking powder and salt
  • Add butter and mix until it’s a coarse consistency
  • Gradually add butter milk, mixing until dough leaves side of bowl
  • Roll dough out on parchment paper to about 1/2 inch thick. The more you fold and roll them the more layers you will create.
  • Use a cutter to make biscuit rounds
  • Place on a sheet pan and top each biscuit with milk
  • Bake for 10 – 12 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

You can make your biscuits as thick or as thin as you like.
