All of these varieties are good options for this recipe because of their thin skin and buttery taste. You can use the traditional russet potato, but you will need to make sure to peel them before use.
How to prepare loaded air fryer roasted potatoes
- Preheat the air fryer to 400° F.
- Rinse and drain potatoes in a colander. Pat them dry.
- Quarter potatoes cut to 1/2 in width.
- Add potatoes to a bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Season with 1/2 of the ranch seasoning packet, dill weed, paprika, salt and pepper.
- Use a spoon to mix well and make sure every potato is coated in the seasoning and olive oil.
- Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket and cook for 20 to 25 minutes or until fork tender.
- Remove them from the air fryer and spread cheese and bacon bits on top.
- Place back in the air fryer so that the cheese will melt completely.

Place any leftover potatoes in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They should last up to 5 days.
Reheating
Reheating potatoes can be tricky. Best practice is to reheat in the oven. Place a little bit of water in the bottom of the dish so that they will steam when reheating. You may also need to read crisp the top of the cheese.
Freezing
