Equipment

  • Bowl
  • Sharp knife
  • Spoon

Ingredients

  • Ingredients
  • 3 Ripe Avocados Keep 1 of the Pits
  • ½ c. Yellow Onion diced
  • 3 Ripe Roma Tomatoes diced
  • 5 Cloves of Garlic minced
  • 2 Limes Juiced
  • ¼ c. chopped Cilantro
  • ¼ c. chopped Oregano
  • 1 tbsp. Onion Powder
  • 1 tbsp. Garlic Powder
  • 1 tbsp. Kosher Salt
  • Tajin for topping
  • ½ - 1 Small Jalapeno minced and seeded optional
  • ½ c. Cotija Cheese optional

Instructions

  • Cut your ripe avocados length wise. Remove the pit, by using the “knife twist” method or a spoon. Keep one of the pits from the Avocado. You will need this to keep your guacamole fresh.
  • Add avocados to the bowl along with all of the other ingredients. No specific order.
  • Use a large fork to smash everything together. As you are mixing, use a small spoon to taste your guacamole. Add more seasoning if necessary. Remember, if enjoying guacamole with chips they normally have salt on them, so go easy on the addition of salt.
  • Once your mixture has reached your desired texture, add the avocado pit to the Center. This helps keep the dip fresh. I love to garnish with Cotija Cheese crumbled on top and a sprinkle of Tajin.
  • Wrap your guacamole in plastic wrap and store in a cool place until you are ready to enjoy.

Notes

You can make your guacamole chunky or smooth. It is just your preference. to make it smoother, try mixing it longer or use an immersion blender to create a creamy effect.
