Brioche French Toast with Grand-Gala

Happy brunch-in! Brunch is one of my favorite meals! It brings the best of all the food worlds. Add this Grand Gala Brioche French Toast to the menu and you're all set. The orange liqueur just gives this French toast a pop of flavor. Then top it off with fresh whip cream, blueberries and granola and Maple Syrup. There's no turning back.

Instructions

For the French Toast

  • In a medium sized bowl add milk eggs, grand-gala or orange liqueur, sugar, Cinnamon and salt. Use a wire whisk to mix this together.
  • Dip one piece at a time of the brioche into the mixture for about 30 seconds, set aside on a rack with a plate or towels underneath. Let The bread sit for 1 to 2 minutes before cooking. The longer the better.
  • Heat your skillet or griddle to medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of butter.
  • Once the butter is melted, add 2-3 slices of French toast. Cook until golden brown on each side. Cook French toast low and slow, to make sure the center gets cooked through.
  • Wipe your skillet or griddle before your next batch. Repeat steps 3 & 4 until all of your toast is cooked.
  • You can place your cooked French toast into a warm oven (300F) so they do not lose heat while you're finishing the rest of your toast.

For whipped topping

  • In a medium mixing bowl add your whipping cream, sugar and vanilla.
  • Use an immersion blender or hand mixer to mix on high until fluffy peaks appear. This will take about 1-2 minutes.
  • I love to add maple syrup, granola, or fresh fruit to the top of this brioche French toast!

Notes

If you're not serving the whipped cream immediately. Place it in the refrigerator. When it's time to serve, use your hand mixer or immersion blender again to re-fluff.
